I’ve got something to confess…I’ve had a paper relapse! I’ve felt it coming on for months. I could see the warning signs, but I chose to ignore them.
- First, I went to CHA back in January. It was so hard to pass up all those booths. They were like old friends beckoning to me. Stickers, paper, buttons, and more. I told myself to stay strong. Stay digital! I made it.
- I started smashbooking. The allure of finding paper goods to add to our Smash Book has been tempting. I’ll admit that I’ve bought some supplies at Target here and there.
- I ventured into one of my old haunts (Paper Creations) in February to search for some 12x12 papers to frame. I confessed my “sins” on The Digi Show and we all had a good giggle. Peppermint also confessed as she has been using quite a bit of traditional paper supplies for her mini pocket scrapbook. Who knew she had such a flair for all that crafty stuff?
All of those things were just minor dalliances. Nothing that would worry the digital scrapbooking world. Then it happened…

I walked into an Archiver’s for the very first time. It was an accident, really. My mom was in town and we were waiting to meet my brother who was running late. We found ourselves in Orem with nothing to do but kill time. We decided to go to the mall and we were surprised to find an Archiver’s store staring us in the face. I knew we were in trouble because after only a few steps inside, we were gushing phrases like “oh how cute!” and “did you see this?” and “when did this come out?” – it was like we had stepped back in time to 2002 when we would go on wild paper shopping binges.
What was I doing? I LOVE digital scrapbooking! I don’t want to go back to paper, but I can’t seem to resist all the beautiful supplies once I get around them. I have a weakness for all types of scrapbooking goodies I guess. Any my daughter was no help at all. She suddenly saw a new world open up to her. She convinced me that she would love to keep a quote journal using all of these fantastic BoBunny Misc. Me products. I totally caved.

Then I started seeing Simple Stories pieces that would be “perfect” for our travel Smash Book. Again, I lost my willpower.

It’s ok though, we will use these. We “need” these things. I also thought I needed a roll of washi tape for our Smash Book. I think 8 rolls of tape is reasonable for 1 book, don’t you?

Oops! Do I need stickers? I haven’t bought stickers in years and it felt soooooooo good to have them in my hands again.

Badges? Oh yes. Oh my oh my, yes!

It’s a good thing my phone rang at that point. My brother was out in the parking lot and ready for us to come and meet him for lunch. Who knows how many badges I would have bought myself if I had more time? Instead, I went and paid for my loot and spent enough that I could have probably bought 11 or 12 nice sized digital kits for the same price. I tried not to think about that. After all, if I’m going to be “Katie the Scrapbook Lady” I need to do “market research” like this, right?

All I can say is that it’s a good thing I don’t live in Orem. Archiver’s is a super fun store!
