Instagram has turned out to be one of my favorite little ways to document the moments of my life. I love that sharing these little snapshots brings up conversations with my friends and family. It’s fun to look back through my Instagram feed and relive the memories. Here are a few of my recent favorites:
There's something extra wonderful about baking from a handwritten recipe. Thanks Mom for the cookbook you gave me when I got married. I still love it!
Dinner on Mickey Mouse plates tonight. Simple joys.
Having fun with the new iOS7 camera settings. Cool!
Beautiful night downtown!
Starting the day off wrong with a colorful breakfast. Tastes yummy!
We had to stop for a big cattle crossing in Elberta, Utah on our drive home from Cedar City today. Cool to see the cowboys in action!
I completely blame Peppermint Granberg for last night's cheeseburger. I've been craving one ever since Steph and I interviewed her for her Daily Digi designer feature. It was delicious though, so I guess I should really thank her.
Such a quick and simple way to share the moments! If you want to see what I post, feel free to follow me on Instagram.
Comcast guy has been here for about 90 minutes already and it doesn't look like he's leaving anytime soon.
I'm going to skip posting today in the name of technical difficulties. *sigh.
School is starting up again next week for my daughter and will begin the next Monday for my son. Even though the calendar still shows the season as summer, I can feel it winding down. It’s been a crazy, but fun few months for our family. We’ve been lucky to have some great time together making simple, but special memories.
I got my hubby a new Blendtech for his birthday so we enjoyed many milkshakes & smoothies around here. Yum!
We didn’t have a yard or a garden for the majority of the summer (it’s finally in progress now), so we tried to appreciate dirt and weeds. Not the most scenic, but they represented a new beginning for us.
It was a little hotter than usual around here. July 2013 was the warmest month on record in Salt Lake City since 1874. We had 13 days that were above 100 degrees F. We usually only get a handful of those. We are now on track for breaking the record of the most 100 degree or higher days in a calendar year.
Even in the heat of the hot summer sun (we don’t have any trees yet – no shade!), we still fired up the barbeque. Grilled pineapple is one of the most delicious summer treats!
We traveled to New Mexico and then turned around and went to Bear Lake (Garden City, Utah). We headed to Cedar City for the Utah Shakespeare Festival a few weeks after that. What a whirlwind!
We have unpacked soooooo many boxes. I’ve spent most of my summer setting up house.
I think the best part of the entire summer was the time that we spent just hanging out together. That’s my favorite!
What did you do this summer? What are your favorite memories? What do you still have planned? I’ve run into a lot of people this year who have told me that they don’t like summer. Even though it’s been too hot for my liking, I still enjoy the long days with plenty of sunshine. I’d take July over January any day!
You’ve had of having a good hair day? Well, I haven’t had one of those in ages. LOL! I have had some great mail days recently though.
I ordered a bunch of layouts (12x12 and 8x8), journaling cards (3x4) and photo prints (4x6) from Persnickety Prints and as always, they arrived so fast and they are beautiful! I’m going to blog about each of these projects separately so you will be hearing more about them. I just LOVE seeing my photos and layouts printed out. If you haven’t printed in a while, I encourage you to do it. It will renew your love for memory keeping!
I know someone will ask these details so I want to be sure to share them:
Ok, this is the best piece of mail I’ve received in a long time. My brother is getting married in September! His fiancée made the invitations and did such a great job with them! Bonus points for the cute yellow chevron stripe.
I’ve been in love with this little print on Minted.com for months now and I finally decided to order it. I have a bathroom that has gray countertops and I think some yellow and white accents are just what it needs. I love that they sent this fun card with the print!
My son Alex is really into Kickstarter projects and he saved his money to back a comic book written by an artist in Thailand. He was so happy when it came today! I thought it was super cool to see the stamps and postmarkings on the package.
I bid on a lot of rock band buttons on ebay (been forever since I bought anything there!) for a bulletin board in Alex’s room. We were both pretty excited. Badges baby!
I’ll admit that I’m an online ordering junkie…but it sure helps make checking the mail a lot more fun!
