Confession time – I’m not at all ready for Halloween this year. No costumes have been purchased and my daughter is the only one who has planned anything so far. She loves Halloween though, so this isn’t surprising. I haven’t done any decorating and I may not do any at all. With our big landscaping project underway, it seems sort of pointless. If I put pumpkins out on the porch, they will be covered with dust in about 10 minutes. Maybe I will feel differently when the yard is done? Right now, I’m just hoping it is finished before Halloween gets here.
I’m not a complete dud though, I’ve done plenty of pinning and online looking at Halloween ideas. Does that count for anything? At least I have purchased the Martha Stewart Halloween issue, just like I always do. It’s an annual tradition and my kids look forward to this as well. It’s really more like an idea book rather than a magazine.
I love that she still dresses up for Halloween each year. Pretty fun for a 72 year old!
There are a lot of good things in this issue! You can click this image to enlarge it if you want to see it in more detail.
I was kind of surprised when the checker at the grocery store seemed so amazed by this magazine. She asked me a lot about it and said she had no idea that there was a special issue every fall. I guess I have been buying them for so long that I just thought everyone knew about them. She flipped through most of the pages and told me that she was going to have to get her own copy.
How about you? Are you ready for Halloween? Do you decorate? Do you dress up? I just might dress up this year – seems fun!
