Why you should bring a notebook with you when you travel

It’s such a simple idea, but it’s an easy one to overlook. We often focus on getting the right pictures and having the best experiences when we travel, but we forget to document the journey.

I found this composition notebook stashed away in a box a few weeks ago. I used it as a road trip journal when we drove to Albuquerque and back in May of 2005. That’s 20 hours of driving time + my Mom even wrote an entry in the notebook while we were staying with her. Suddenly, a .99 cent notebook is a treasure.

Of course, you can also use a smartphone or many other methods to record the journey, but I really love this little notebook.
