On taking time off
For many of my almost 11 years of blogging, I feared missing a day. For the first few years, I blogged every single day, even on weekends. When I was a regular writer at The Daily Digi (from 2009 -2013) I couldn't keep that schedule up and I went down to just posting on weekdays which is still five times a week. I was faithful about that for a long time. I hated to miss a day and I worried my readers would lose interest.
I've definitely loosened up over the past year. I miss some days now and I don't worry too much about it. I have great readers that still come back. The world keeps revolving. Life goes on. Sometimes I just need a day off here and there. Every once in a while I need a little more than that. It's not because I get tired of it - it's because sometimes I can't get ahead of the game enough to work ahead. Usually when I take a trip or have big events come up in my life, I write several posts and schedule them to automatically update each day on my blog. Sometimes I'm not organized enough to do that. This is one of those times.
I have a busy few days ahead so I'm going to take a break. The cool thing is that my "busy" schedule is really more of a fun time with people I love. With Memorial Day coming up at the beginning of next week, it seems like a great time to take an early weekend. Yes, Wednesday is a little early to start a weekend, but isn't it glorious when it works out that way?
Sometimes you just need to put away the keyboard and soak in life. It's good for the soul! I'll be posting my roundup prompts on May 31st and then I'll be back to my regular schedule on June 1st. I hope you all get a chance to enjoy some time off soon as well.
And thanks for coming back even when I leave for a few days. I really appreciate all of you who take the time to stop here each day!
