Catch Up from the Scrapbook Lady

It's been quite awhile since I posted one of my "catch-up" posts and I've found some cool things to tell you about.

As you probably know from my recent organization posts, I'm a big fan of keeping my digital files in order. I recently found these 10 tips for decluttering your digital life on the One Good Thing blog and I learned some great new tricks. Definitely worth a read!

The co-inventor (Aaron Johnson) of the Cricut cutting machine has just launched a Kickstarter campaign for a pop-up photo light studio called SHOTBOX. This product is designed to take high quality photos of family history, scrapbooking and DIY projects as well as 3D photos for eBay, Etsy, Pinterest and Amazon using any camera, but particularly your smart phone. I love that it's collapsible! I know that many paper scrappers would enjoy using this to photograph their projects for online sharing. Be sure to watch the video on the site for more details.

I rarely download from blog trains, but I do enjoy the digi scrap parade quarterly free kits and I especially love the geography theme of the most recent collection. It's a great gift from many talented digital designers!

Have you ever realized what Facebook does to the photos you upload? You can lose a lot of details if you use the standard uploading procedures. This post on PhotoShelter gives some great tips for making the most of your Facebook sharing.

Finally, what's better for a "catch-up" post than a link to a post about catching up? I love the approach that Aaron (Sir Scrapalot) uses for his Project Life pages. It's very similar to my own power scrapping method. Scrap in batches, it saves time and sanity!

Now I need to go work on catching up on all the other parts of my life. I'd much rather work on scrapbooking though.
