Did you know September is National Stamping Month? I’m using that as a good excuse to finally get out some of my stamps and play! Ever since I toured Stampin Up! back in April, I’ve been itching to start stamping again. Yes, again. I used to be really big into rubber stamping back in the late 1990s and early 2000s. I belonged to a card exchange group that met once a month. There were 16 of us, and we would come to the gathering with 16 identical stamped cards. We would then exchange them with each other by taking turns and telling a little bit about our creation. We would go home with 16 different cards. It was so much fun! Some of the friends I made in that group are still part of my life now. I really miss the social part of that exchange group, but we all got a little burned out on card making after about 3 years. We started to feel like we would never be able to use all of those cards in one lifetime!
It’s 10 years later now and I’ve given all those cards away. I didn’t even keep any for scrapbooks or take pictures of them. What was I thinking? Oh well, now I know better. I’m going to photograph my projects from now on. I will also be sure to keep some of them for myself. Now I just need to decide what to start with. That’s a hard decision when there are so many darling stamps available!
When I toured Stampin Up!, I told my tour guide Rachel that one of my favorite things was the catalogs. I purchased a few of them in my old stamping days and I’ve looked through them many times over the years for ideas. They really are like idea books! It tells you something that I have hung onto these since 2002.
So I was thrilled when Rachel sent me this year’s catalog to look through. It has more than 200 pages of amazing products and fun ideas!
Some of my favorites – I want them all!
What I’m starting with:
- Friendship Preserves on page 117 of current catalog. Also available as a digital download file.
- A Round Array on page 126 of current catalog.
- Lots of Thanks on page 29 of current catalog. Also available as a digital download file.
- Flower shop on page 94 of current catalog. I also got the matching Pansy Punch. Super excited about using the punch with the stamps!
I love how they come in collection cases now! So much easier to store these.
I decided to use the Friendship Preserves set to make a tag for a jar of homemade strawberry jam. I think it turned out so cute!
If you love Stampin UP! products, you can find a demonstrator by going to their website. If you are a stamper (or even think about stamping), leave me a little comment to say “hi”.
