It’s hard to believe that we are already half-way through the month of September! It’s been such an interesting month of transitions for me. School has started, my brother got married, and I’m down to a few rooms that still need to be unpacked. I call them the “scary rooms” because they are the places I’ve been stashing stuff that I haven’t decided what to do with yet. Once they are organized, I will have a nice storage room and an exercise room. Do you realize that means I will need to start exercising? It’s about time! It’s also very needed for all of us in this house.

My son Alex is considerably happier when he gets some physical activity each day. He likes to go out on the swingset and sing his heart out each day (thank you patient neighbors!). When the weather is bad, it is hard on him to miss his swinging time. I’m wishing we could figure out how to have an indoor swing. Did you know that swinging is especially helpful for people with autism? True story. I would love to find some sort of indoor swing to put in our exercise room. It’s not a very big room though so we might have to be creative. Plus, he’s a big grownup guy now, we need a swing that works for an adult. If any of you have advice or experience in this area, I would love to have your input!
In the meantime, I’m hoping for a long and pleasant fall so he can enjoy his swinging time and we can hopefully get a little use out of our yard which is supposed to be done around the first part of October.
