I’m still discovering cool new features in Adobe Photoshop Elements 11 and I literally said “Oh wow!” when this popped up yesterday!
Do you know what this means? Now you can have your shadows on a separate layer from your embellishments so you can tweak them even more. I’ve never done that before so I don’t really know all the benefits yet, but I’ve heard others talking about that feature in Photoshop CS and I’m excited to be playing in the big leagues now when it comes to shadowing! This is BIG news in the world of digital scrapbooking for PSE users!
*Here’s my update – I got this message when I used a shadowing action (Karah Fredericks poppers) and it did put the shadow on a separate layer. It does not allow you as much control over the shadow that you would get in a full Photoshop program though. No linear burn and all that jazz. I’ve not yet figured out how to get the shadow on a separate layer without using an action first. I’ll let you know what I figure out after I get some more time to play around. And after I sent a bunch more emails to Wendy. lol! Seriously, she’s so good at this stuff!
If you have any questions about whether or not PSE 11 is for you, I’d encourage you to read through my blog comments on yesterday’s post. There were some good ones and Wendyzine even jumped in to help me with a technical action answer. You can also be sure that I will be sharing plenty of tips and tricks for PSE 11 over at The Daily Digi as well. I’m a happy digi scrapper right now!
