I just never feel like the new month is official until I put the old one “to bed” by doing a roundup. Time to wrap up July!
I didn’t do as much documenting of everyday life in July. I neglected our family blog and didn’t post as much on facebook or twitter as I usually do. I guess I just needed a break from a lot of that. I also missed a few days of my iPhone photo of the day project, but I decided it was ok to “cheat” a little (just a little!) and I took some make-up shots to fill in the blanks. I’ve been going strong on this project all year so I didn’t want to let 4 missed days ruin it. Nobody would have even known if I didn’t confess.
What fun things did I do with my family and/or friends?
The big deal in July for our family was my daughter going to stay with my parents in New Mexico. She flew to NM with my Dad and brother after they came here for a brief visit. She was there for 2 weeks and then they all drove up to Cedar City, Utah to meet us. It was a big adventure for my daughter and such a wonderful opportunity for her to spend priceless time with her Grandparents.
The Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City was a great experience for all of us!
Other notable events: I went to girls camp with my daughter and a few hundred other teenage girls and leaders. We had our traditional 4th of July party with a big group of friends. We saw the movie Brave with my parents.
What gifts did I give and/or receive?
A rare month with no gift giving or receiving opportunities. We didn’t even go to any weddings which hasn’t happened for awhile. I did take dinner to a friend who had major surgery on her neck.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
I was such a homebody in July that I didn’t do a lot of purchasing. I did get some new t-shirts and capris for myself (I was way overdue) and I helped my husband build up his wardrobe a bit. Also bought my son some nice slacks for church.
What were my accomplishments this month?
I went to the dentist and didn’t have any cavities. Yay! I also got serious about losing weight and being more healthy. I lost 8 pounds in July!
I recorded 3 digi show podcasts with Steph and Peppermint and various guests. We had to re-record one episode and we completely lost another one due to a corrupt file so it felt like we recorded a lot of shows in July. Each graphic is linked to the individual podcast.
I did my usual posting on The Daily Digi. I thought it would be fun to link to all my posts here. I also created the graphics for each post which is kind of like creating a mini scrapbook page.
Plus 2 Funtastic Friday posts, an instagram post, a summer memories post, and an un-digi about springpad.
I scrapped 16 layouts (images are linked to the post where they originally appeared)
I made 12 stops on my annual summer blog tour.
I started up a newsletter again after years without sending one. I used to send out a lot of newsletters. I have some fun plans for this one!
AND I opened my own blog store!
What were my disappointments this month?
Stinkin shoulder injury that I’ve complained about in the last few roundups. I’m actually going in for a MRI today because of it. I went to physical therapy all month and I swear it’s getting worse. Boo!
How did I do on my goals for the month? (Or any current short or long term goals)
I’m sticking with my iPhone photo of the day project even though it was a little more tedious this month, and I completed another month of the 12 on 12 project. Go me!
I’m proud of myself for getting my roundup done! I kept it pretty short and simple this time, but I’m so glad that I took the time to do it. Have you done your roundup yet? You can start at any time – you’ll be glad you did!
