My son loves music more than just about anything and he was so excited for the big “rock concert” style of the closing ceremonies for the Olympics. He has a special fondness for British bands and musicians and he held on all night for the promise of seeing THE WHO perform. When the ceremonies ended without any sign of The Who, he was so disappointed. Luckily, we found this clip to show him, but it’s not really the same to have to watch it on a small laptop screen. I figured it must have been a TiVo error on our part, but it turns out that a lot of other people have had the same complaint. NBC cut out before the official end of the ceremonies!
I realize not everyone loved the closing ceremonies. We watched them with my parents who absolutely did not like what they saw. My son totally loved them because of all the music. Whether or not you liked them, it sure seems like it would have been nice to see everything. From what I hear, the BBC did a fantastic job with their coverage. I just wish we could have had the same here in America.
Anyone else out there feel the same way? For my foreign readers – I would love to know how your coverage of the games went? It sure was fun to see all the athletes and so much of the culture of the United Kingdom. What an amazing few weeks it has been!
