I’m on “tour” during the month of July and you’re invited to come along as I visit some of my favorite online destinations! This is my 3rd year of tours and you can find all my past stops in this post. Today’s stop is Houzz where there are hundreds of thousands of ideas and images to inspire you in your own home decorating, building, and remodeling projects. If you ever need design advice, Houzz is the place to go!
When you find images and ideas that you like, you can save them to your ideabook (similar to a pinboard). You can also look through other’s ideabooks and share your own with other users.
If you browse the “products” section at Houzz, you will find all sorts of cool things for your home. I like that they recommend items from big retailers like Amazon, as well as catalog companies like West Elm, and even independent sellers on Etsy.
A feature that I’ve never used is the listing for professionals area. You can search for related services and local retail providers for anything ranging from Architects to Window Coverings.
You can install a bookmarklet in your browser bar to help you save images from any website to your Houzz idea book.
There’s a free app to use Houzz on your iPhone or iPad.
I save my Houzz favorites to my Dream House pinboard. Here’s what has inspired me:

I love that I can always find something new and inspiring on Houzz. I hope you enjoy your visit! Special thanks to Kate Hadfield for her great doodles. I always use them for my summer tour graphics because they are so much fun!
