We’ve reached the final stop on my July summer tour! You can find all my past stops in this post. Today’s stop is one of the best sources to go for in-depth scrapbooking design inspiration – Masterful Scrapbook Design!
I’ve been a student and follower of Masterful Scrapbook Design almost from the time Debbie Hodge created the site, and I’ve never been disappointed with the content there. In fact, I often can’t get through all of it and need to come back to it repeatedly to digest all the great downloads and information.
I love that there are rotating topics and teachers at Masterful Scrapbook Design each month. You truly get to learn from the experts and the format allows for some in-depth exploration. It’s all about learning scrapbook design and finding out how to use the principles of great design in your own creations. The materials are delivered in multiple and portable formats. You’ll read pdfs, listen to audio mp3s, and/or view video mp4s when the time is right for you. It’s great for someone like me who likes to learn in multiple ways.
The materials get quickly to the point and provide the instruction you need to master page design in easily digestible pieces. You can read the documents on your phone or e-reader (and you can most certainly print them if that’s your preference). Each month you’ll get 3+ hours of audio/video that you can listen to over and over again while you drive, commute, work, and scrapbook.
Masterful Scrapbook Design is a membership site, so you will need to sign up for a membership to enjoy all the great content there. A subscription to Masterful Scrapbook Design is $16 each month (automatically renewed on the same day each month). On the first Wednesday of the month you get an in-depth “seminar” in pdf and video format that surveys the “forest” of the focus topic. As the month progresses you learn about the “trees” of our topic, receiving articles by guest teachers, an inspiration gallery, and invitations to (and then recordings of) five webinars. You can save even more by signing up for a 6 month membership.
What if you are late in joining the party, but you really want the past seminars & materials? Debbie has now released a bundle where you can get immediate access to complete library of 22 past issues, yours forever, catalogued and ready for organizing into your personal favorites and reading lists.
Issues are:
Art Journaling Looks for Scrapbook Pages; Portraits, Moments, Lists & 365ers; Artful Embellishing; Typography; Motif, Meaning, and Design; Focal Points; Canvas; Texture and Dimension; These Times; Design Play; Smorgasbord; Fast Starts; Photos; Stash Busting; Patterned Paper; Titles; Journaling; Events; Details; Layering; Color.
I’ve enjoyed all of the months, but some of my favorite themes have been Typography, Texture and Dimension (even applicable to a digital scrapbooker!) and of course journaling. For me, it’s like getting my degree (or perhaps even master’s degree) in scrapbooking and as a “scrapbook lady”, I’m all about that! I bet a lot of you would love it also! Hope you have fun exploring the site and be sure to check out the FAQs in the top menu bar of the site. Debbie Hodge is so great and she works hard to make Masterful Scrapbook Design something really special.
This concludes my epic tour of the internet for this summer. I’m happy that so many of you have enjoyed the stops along the way. I’m already excited for next year’s tour! Special thanks to Kate Hadfield for her great doodles. I always use them for my summer tour graphics because they are so much fun!
