This is my 3rd consecutive month of doing the 12 on 12 challenge and I love having a few successes under my belt on a long-term project like this. It gets to be more fun as each month builds upon the last. I almost forgot in February and was able to pull it together at the last minute. I had no trouble remembering for March though and I was so happy that there was more daylight to capture thanks to our change in clocks from the day before. In truth, I was not happy about this early in the morning, but when evening rolled around, I changed my tune.
I pulled out my camera mid-morning when my son Alex unloaded the dishwasher. Do you know that he NEVER complains about doing this? He always willingly unloads the dishwasher any time I ask him too. What a guy!
I got on a major cleaning kick (that hasn’t happened in a while) and I whipped the house into shape. I love this mirror in our bedroom and I figured it was worth documenting me in my jeans and baggy Pirates of the Caribbean t-shirt from Disneyland. I like our dark green wall and our simple furniture. I do wish we had a king size bed though. (First world problem alert!)
I got a new cookbook for my birthday and I think it looks so pretty sitting in my basket. I feel inspired to eat more healthy when I see the word “Organic” staring back at me. I love cookbooks!
My daughter took a picture of me while I was vacuuming. I think you can tell that I have a lot of photographs around in our house!
I really like our blue wall in our living room. I like our maize colored couch and our accent pillows from Restoration Hardware and Target purchased a few years ago.
It was such a nice day outside and it was unseasonably warm and sunny. I decided to go out and check on the garlic we planted last fall. Looking good! I used a plastic knife as a plant marker – pretty fancy, right?
I love the sunshine!
I also love blue skies!
It was so nice, that Riley and I decided to do some swinging.
She insisted on taking over the camera and taking action pictures of me on the swings.
I said two could play at that game so I had fun taking swinging shots of her.
Then she kicked off her shoes and pumped her swing up into the sky. Ahhhhhh… spring!
In many ways, this exercise is like doing a “day in the life” twelve different times during the year. I’m liking this approach and I also appreciate that I don’t have to worry about capturing the entire day. I just get my 12 pictures and call it good.
Did any of you take 12 photos on the 12th of March?
