It’s time for another Super Bowl Sunday and I’m trying to plan our snacking menu. My son has been talking about the big game all week and it’s not really because he’s all that into football (although he will watch it). It’s totally about the snacks and the halftime entertainment for him. That’s true for 3 out of 4 Nelsons that reside in this house. lol! We are all just looking for an excuse to eat and to celebrate.
I’ve thrown some pretty good Super Bowl parties in my day. When my kids were little, we were the designated Super Bowl party people. We invited friends from our neighborhood (we lived somewhere different then) and everyone would bring a dish to share. In 2003, when the Raiders played the Buccaneers, we even had a Pirate themed bash to celebrate. These days, it’s just the 4 of us watching the game and that’s fun too.
My big plan this year is to set up camp with my laptop and do some digi scrapping during the game. We also have a puzzle that we are working on and I hope to get a big chunk done on that as well. Of course, all of that is dependent on if I can quit coughing so much by then. I’m a real “fun” gal to have around right now! That also means that I’m keeping the food prep quite simple for the big game. I don’t want to wear myself out. Thankfully, I know my daughter will be happy to help out. Oh, and we are trying to eat much healthier food these days so I’m taking that into consideration as well.
Here’s what I’m thinking we will have for our Super Bowl snack fest, courtesy of Pinterest (of course)
