I bought myself a new toy! I finally got a macro lens and I’ve been pretty excited to try it out. I also bought myself a new camera, but I haven’t used it yet since I had to charge up the battery. I’ll blog more about that tomorrow. I put my new lens on my Nikon D40 and took some pictures of some beautiful treats I bought.
Strawberries are such pretty subjects to shoot.
I’m not a big fan of mint, but as I explained to my daughter – it’s ok to pick out treats that will look pretty in photographs.
It was surprisingly tasty, and not too minty. Yum!
I thought it was so cool that my 14 year old daughter wanted to play along. I let her pick out a treat to photograph as well. She opted for her favorite (an éclair) instead of worrying about presentation. She did not use the macro lens on this and I think it turned out amazing. The force is strong with this one!
Way to go Girlie!
I’ve definitely got some learning to do with the macro lens as you can tell from this shot:
LOL! It’s not as easy as my macro-cheating filters, but I see that it has great possibilities. I’m excited to learn more!
