Can you believe it’s football season already? I have to admit that I get VERY bored watching football (American football). There are so many time outs, replays, and standing around on the field, that I just get impatient. It seems like each game take 4 hours. My hubby loves it though (although he rarely has time to watch). For me the best thing about football is the food that we can eat while we are watching it. LOL! I think tailgating is such a fun idea, but I love doing it at home. Plus, we just love snacks and appetizers around here so I thought this recipe found on the Simple Creative Insanity blog looked like so much fun!
If you do love football, you might enjoy looking back at my Superbowl Sunday holiday post for some creative ideas. I have a whole bunch of holiday related posts right here. Let me know if I’m missing anything!

Do you remember when I posted about the Lego Advent Calendar last year? So many readers asked me to be sure and let them know when they became available this year because they go fast! Well, they are up on the Lego site right now and they actually have 2 different ones this year. What are they doing to me?! I know last year they made a VERY brief appearance at my local Target around the end of September so watch the ads. Or just play it safe and order one (or two – just sayin’).
Now I’m just waiting for October 1st for the Winter Bakery to become available! It will be the perfect add-on to last year’s Holiday Village.

Ok, I know I just skipped ahead to Christmas – oops! Halloween is much closer and if you want some great Halloween ideas, you really MUST pick up Martha Stewart’s special Halloween issue.

It’s available in many supermarkets and magazine stands right now. This is a yearly tradition in our house and my son loves it just as much as my daughter and I do. Here’s one of my favorite ideas from this issue. I don’t like to carve pumpkins (so messy!) but stacking them sure looks fun!

Hope you have a happy day!
P.S. – thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday for my daughter! We had a fun day filled with a trip to the mall, lunch at Cheesecake factory, and her favorite homemade dinner (Pasta Primavera).
