My daughter has been wanting this Nintendo ds personal trainer game for awhile now. Not sure why I didn’t just buy it for her a long time ago. I make my kids earn all of their video games with a points system we use (or they can use any cash they earn or receive as well). I decided that I would buy this for both of my kids in hopes that it would rub off on me. Now it isn’t in most stores any more so we had to order ours from a seller on half.com. Each game comes with 2 pedometer tracking devices and you can actually order more if you want them. We bought 2 different games so we have 4 tracking units. It just worked out better for us to do it that way.
What a great little invention this is! You can even import your Mii from the Wii to use as your character in this program. Now we are all wearing these cool little electronic pedometers and we just scan them by the dsi when we want to see our progress. It’s simple but it seems to be very motivating for my kids and for me. It might be a little too motivating for my daughter because she has worn herself out with too much exercising lately in order to get to the next level on the game. I’m not that obsessed with it, but I am starting to keep track of time that I’m not moving. I was a little embarrassed the other day when I checked in and it showed a time period of 1 hour and 43 minutes with no movement. My daughter said “were you taking a nap?” and I realized it was just me parking myself in front of the computer for that long. I’m now determined to not have any really long periods of inactivity show up on my profile.
I should have put the kids in charge of my exercise schedule years ago! lol!
