I'm getting ready to work on my blog design today so I thought this would be a great time to post a little info about flair buttons. I was going crazy to figure out where everyone was getting all of those cute flair buttons that I saw in the forums. I bought a few different commercial-use flair button kits and quite honestly, I was disappointed. They just didn't look the same. I have to admit that my craving for flair is what finally led me to join facebook. LOL! I have been collecting flair buttons like a madwoman since then.
I have even made several pieces of flair using the facebook application. But what if you don't use facebook? What if you want a higher resolution piece of flair so it looks nice when you print it out on a scrapbook layout? After all, facebook flair is only sized for the web. I have had a few readers ask me this very question and I haven't felt like there was a great resource to point them to. Plenty of digi stores are offering build-your-own flair kits but I haven't found one that gives the look I love until now.
The very first designer who turned me onto flair buttons was Emily Powers (just look at her store banner!) Now she doesn't know me at all, and she has no idea I'm blogging about her today, but I have to tell you that I love her pieces of flair. She has the best ones in my opinion! But you had to buy her kits to get any. Now she has a DIY product called DIY BLING BUTTONS and I am so excited about these that I bought them right on the spot. So if you love flair and want to make your own - go buy them!
You can buy personal use or commercial use (that's what I got). I won't be using these for my blog design flair buttons though. I will be using the facebook application for those because web quality is all I need and I already made most of them. You will be seeing some Emily inspired flair on my personal pages and in my designs very soon though!
Oh, and if this blog post wasn't enough to tip you off... there will be a lot of flair buttons included in my new blog design! There will be clickable buttons on the sidebar and often times at the bottoms of posts like this. Go ahead - click them!
