What are you doing today? Do you have a list of things to do written down? Do you have appointments on your calendar? Is it a "routine" day? If so, what is your "routine"? Think about these questions for a few minutes and use them to inspire you to make some sort of record of what you are doing today. You can jot it down in a journal, write it on your blog, or even take pictures and make a scrapbook page.
As scrapbookers (memory keepers, bloggers, journalers...etc.) we know the importance of writing things down and keeping records, yet how often do we actually do it? I like to think that I write a lot of information down. I post to this blog and I keep a separate one just for family. But often in my quest to be interesting and witty, I forget to just record the simple daily tasks of life.
Since I'm writing this post at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday night, my Monday hasn't officially started yet. I just wanted to be sure I had my "Memory Monday" post ready in time for my readers and I'm honestly hoping to sleep in a bit if I can since we don't have school tomorrow. So I'll just start the ball rolling by telling you some of the things I have on my list for Monday.
I already mentioned sleeping in. You may think that as a homeschooler that I already get to sleep in every day. Sadly, not true. We follow the k12.com Utah Virtual Academy program and it is quite intensive (especially the high school program my son is in). We have a lot to accomplish each day and my hubby is an early riser and often wakes us up anyway.
My kids have made a pact to do no schooling at all tomorrow. We fell behind in our work last week because we went on that field trip, so my son and I were doing schoolwork until 4 p.m on Saturday. We need a break! The kids have big plans for a Disney Channel marathon and my daughter is hoping to make some cookies.
I plan to have a "teacher work day" of sorts. I plan to finally tackle the piles of papers and get through my list of tasks. (famous last words!)
My Sister-in-law's birthday is on Tuesday so I need to work on a gift for her. We are also meeting my in-laws for dinner tomorrow night to celebrate.
I finished up a new digital kit yesterday (butterflies and bohemian style!) so I need to get it loaded in my stores, and upload the free quick page I will have here for you tomorrow! ;) I've done 2 layouts with the kit already so now I just have the administrative and promotional tasks to do. I think most people would be surprised to learn that there is just as much work in releasing a kit as there is in designing it!
And of course I need to write down the day's tasks and events so I can complete my own Memory Monday Challenge!
