I'm having such a crazy week that I really feel like I don't have time to do a roundup right now! But, I know I will thank myself later on for taking some time to jot down the main memories of the month of April. I truly believe that this is a useful and important tool so I'm going to follow my own advice and get it done! If you don't know what a "roundup" is, scroll down to yesterday's entry.
This is going to be a "quickie" roundup, but that is ok also - it still counts and it will still be a great record of the month of April!
April 2007:
What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
Everything I read in the month of April was pretty much for homeschool with my son or else to brush up on my digital design and computer skills. I did sort through about 20 old catalogs and magazines and cleared some space up on my studio bookshelves.
What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
Hubby and I finished up season 2 of Lost and we are now "lost" without it - lol! We really haven't settled on another series to watch together yet but we are probably going to try Alias. Thanks to everyone who sent in suggestions here!
I watched both Pirates of the Caribbean movies with my son (hooray for Captain Jack!) and I watched a couple of Barbie movies with my daughter. Watched a few episodes of Mythbusters with the family.
What special days did I celebrate and how?
Had an Easter Egg Hunt with my in-laws
Went to a brunch for my father-in-law's birthday. We gave him an orchid as a gift because he loves them.
Called my brother (he lives in Texas) on his birthday.
What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
We were pretty healthy this month which was a relief after March. My son got a very upset tummy yesterday though.
Hubby's Grandma had a stroke so we have been worried about her. She seems to be doing pretty good though. She has been up walking with a walker so that is a good sign.
What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
Hung out with my kids during my daughter's spring break from school.
My hubby went to Canada on a business trip. I know that didn't involve me, but it seems worth mentioning.
We met an author and a NBA player at a book signing.
We went to a wedding and took dinner in to a neighbor who had a baby.
Played 20 questions with my kids on this little device - very addicting!
What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
I found out that my son really likes Asparagus which is nice to find out that there is something besides Pasta, mashed potatoes, garlic bread, chicken nuggets, and French Fries that he likes! Thankfully, he does like fruit as well but he has a pretty limited diet.
My daughter (the 10 year old vegetarian) is very into yogurt right now and insists on eating at least 2 containers of it each day. She also is quite a picky eater.
What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Not too much. Hubby did buy a new tv for his downstairs office so after all these years of not buying televisions and relying on hand-me-downs from my parents, we seem to have gone on a bit of a TV buying binge!
What were this month's disappointments?
Ran into a few problems with getting documentation for testing accomodations for my son. I homeschool him, but it is through a state program and he is required to do end of year testing. This has been a frustration.
Despite walking on my treadmill regularly for the first time in years, I seemed to have found a way to still gain weight! I seem to have a real talent for this! lol! or else cry - can't decide which!
What were my accomplishments this month?
I did walk on my treadmill regularly and I know that is a good thing. Makes me healthier. I had a very good scrapbooking month!
Got accepted as a new designer at The Digi Shoppe (coming on May 4th)
Had a layout featured on the NDISB home page
Won a gift card from Gina Miller for a layout I submitted for her team blog challenge
Entered the Queen of the Crop contest (you can see my page on May 5th) The charity I have chosen to scrap for is Autism Speaks which means a lot to me since my own son has autism.
I was invited to be on Miriam Lima's creative team
I also have several new creative team members on my own team, but I will announce them in my newsletter (May 4th)
Participated in a digital kit for childhood cancer called Pink Lemonade
I even wrote out a timeline of my scrapbooking history.
My blog was featured on the Create a Connection Blog
I completed 8 digital layouts and designed a TON of new stuff that will be at The Digi Shoppe on May 4th. I also added 3 new items to my shop at A Cherry on Top.
Whew! What a month April was! I'm hoping that May will be even better :) We have a lot of fun family events planned for the month of May so I'm excited about that.

Hope you get a chance to roundup your memories for April - you will be glad you did!
