so I took the 12 of 12 challenge today and I decided to take 12 photos on the 12th of July that represented my life today.
I had a hard time figuring this one out, I kept worrying that what I was doing would be too boring to take photos of. After all, I spent the day cleaning and working on finally getting through my GINORMOUS stack of papers and such. I also worked on getting organized for homeschooling my son. None of it seemed very photo-worthy, but then maybe that is the point - just take photos of the regular stuff you do.
I bet I will have more ideas next month. But for now... here are my 12 pictures:
The UPS truck came and left a package which I was hoping was the Ali Edwards Patterned Paper book I ordered FOREVER ago (and is already out in stores) but it was this guide for my son. That's ok, he shrieked with joy when he saw it and he worked hard for it!
I organized folders for homeschool. I was thrilled to find these Trapper Keepers at Office Max yesterday (yes, I'm an office store junkie, so is my hubby!) I haven't seen Trapper Keepers since like 1983 or something like that! I used them in junior high and loved them. When I brought them home yesterday hubby promptly declared that he would like his own set of these so I will need to make another trip soon (oh darn)
Watered my flower pots, including my 2 new fancy pots of dwarf sunflowers. We went to Cactus and Tropicals on Saturday to buy a special gift for someone we were supposed to have dinner with on Sunday. We picked out these flowers and had them potted and wrapped up nice for $20.00. I told Hubby that I wished I could get some too so he bought me my very own pot. Well Sunday came and we had to cancel our dinner which we were pretty bummed out about. So no gift for our nice host and now I have 2 pots of flowers that cost $40.00 total which is pretty extravagant in my opinion!
Then my framer came and fixed the wall that the sheetrockers screwed up. Just a simple wall, but for some reason no one seemed to be able to get it right, so even though he generally doesn't do sheetrock anymore, he came and fixed it. The problem is now our guy who is doing the sheetrock finish work probably can't come back until the middle of August because he is busy with other jobs. So our rooms will sit in limbo for awhile now.
I had to pick up my daughter from an activity and we drove right by my husband's work so I called and invited him to take us all out to lunch and he was actually available! I was so glad because he has had meetings every night this week and we haven't seen him much. We went to Noodles & Company and my daughter and I shared potstickers and a chopped chinese salad.
My son had buttered noodles with Parmesan cheese (his staple in life) and my husband had a curry dish. I didn't pay too much attention to that because I really don't like the flavor of curry.
I tried a new flavor of IZZE - blackberry which was good, but not as good as my very favorite flavor of Clementine.
I thought this picture of my daughter in the restaurant turned out pretty cute considering the waitress got in the way of the camera and I hurried and snapped it.
After we got home I let the kids totally "veg out" and play computer and video games. My daughter has a new obsession - a tamagotchi and she spent a lot of time playing with that.
this is a rare shot of my son because he is actually sitting down and playing video games. Most of the time he stands directly in front of the tv and bounces up and down. He actually gets a workout when he plays video games. The only reason he was sitting here is because he was checking out a game guide at the same time.
Then I forgot to take anymore pictures! I got busy with cleaning and then dinner time and bedtimes and all that jazz. I did spend 2 hours sorting through 2 years worth of pictures so for my twelth and final entry today I will include an older photo that I sorted (yes, it's cheating, but who are you going to tell? LOL!)
In reality I could have taken this photo today as I saw plenty of lillies in bloom. But this one is from last July so we will just call it good ok?
Anyway, the 12 of 12 was fun to do and now I have a great photo record of what I did today. This inspired me to journal about things I wouldn't have otherwise thought to write about.
Pretty cool! Hope you had a Happy 12th of July!
